Offsite Explorer
Explore the gorgeous Wales countryside in a children-led activity
What to
expect
Students take responsibility for a self-led journey, coached by our team of walk leaders. Students can develop skills such as teamwork, leadership and resilience.
Using the basic technology of a map and compass children will engage and explore the local natural environment, developing navigational and life skills linked to Geography, Maths and Physical Education. Working together to support and share ideas will build children's social skills and give them a real sense of achievement. Colomendy is set in an ideal location to explore the local environment that is laden with natural history, industrial heritage and exploring this area provides an opportunity to experience the countryside as a working landscape.
Once they've reached the summit of Moel Famau, set 550m above sea level, they'll see what they've achieved as they take in the panoramic views.
