We believe that outdoor adventure is for everyone - and that every young person should have the chance to experience a transformative residential trip. That's why we've launched the Kingswood Hardship Fund, to provide financial support for individual young people who face barriers to accessing this experience.
We believe that outdoor adventure is for everyone - and that every young person should have the chance to experience a transformative residential trip.
That's why we've launched the Kingswood Hardship Fund, to provide financial support for individual young people who face barriers to accessing this experience.
The fund provides financial support to allow everyone, regardless of their status or background, to take part in a Kingswood residential stay or day visit. Primarily, the fund is designed to assist children and young people who face financial hardship or are affected by serious illness, either personally or through a parent / carer.
You can make an application to the Hardship Fund for Kingswood to fully fund up to 2 in 10 young people from your group to attend. Funding is available up to a maximum of 100% of the net price for the individual to attend a Kingswood residential trip or day visit. Funded places are limited to a maximum of 2 for every 10 fully paying young people and capped at a maximum of 10 places per group. Any award will show in the form of a discount against the cost of accommodation, catering (if applicable), activities and transport whilst on the Kingswood residential stay or day visit and cannot be used to cover travel to and from the Centre or other costs added by your school/organisation.
The application may be for a number of individuals attending one or various Kingswood centres (some location and date restrictions apply). Beneficiaries of the fund should be aged between 6-18 years on the final date of their visit, and must be enrolled as a student as defined by the school/college or as a member of the group/organisation they intend to visit Kingswood with.
We will consider all applications where need is demonstrated in a supporting letter. Individuals who are eligible for free school meals and/or those in financial need can apply to the Kingswood Hardship Fund.
Applications must be submitted no later than 12 weeks before your visit. For bookings made within 12 weeks of stay please speak to a member of our Sales or Customer Service team at the time of booking.

HOW WE FUND OUR BURSARIES
As an organisation who believes strongly in the benefits of the bursary for young people, we also allocate part of our earned income to provide support young people who face barriers to this experience. Unfortunately we can only support a limited number of applications each year.
CONFIDENTIALITY
We will deal with all applications for funding in a confidential manner and will never disclose to pupils they have been considered for or awarded funding.
FEEDBACK
As part of the process of receiving the fund, we will ask all recipients to complete a feedback questionnaire so that we can see the impact this fund is having on children and young people. This will also help strengthen the future and potential of the fund in order to help more individuals.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Please remember that we can only accept applications from schools, groups or organisations that have made a booking.
If the organisation/school subsequently cancels their booking, any payments not covered by funding would still be payable subject to Kingswood’s usual cancellation charges (as defined in our Booking Terms & Conditions).
Schools, Groups, Organisations and Individuals may apply for funding in subsequent years but support will be on a sliding scale and preference will be given to first time applicants.
We welcome suggestions for the future development of our support funds from groups and individuals.
